 Nissan Silvia after exterior detail

So Fresh, So Clean

My efficient but effective procedure leaves your car looking drop-dead gorgeous. Don't worry, her new boyfriend's car will look like a dumpster compared to yours.

What's Included?

Wheels

What once was a stunning silver, is now charcoal black from dirt, grime and brake dust. Nothing a little wheel cleaner and scrubbing won't fix. Once I'm done with them, you'll find yourself wondering whether I cleaned them, or fit you with a brand new set of rims.

Wheel Wells/Arches

Some people ignore them, even though they're the barrier between the contaminants from the road and your car's electronics. They're life savers, so yes, they deserve some love. A quick rinse and scrub, and they're as good as new

Foam Bath/Rinse

Dousing the vehicle with a foam bath allows the automotive shampoo to encapsulate and free any major debris. This allows for a safer contact wash, ensuring no contaminants are marring your paint as it's cleaned.

Contact Wash

A meticulous procedure to ensure your car is free of dust, dirt and traffic film, leaving your car shining brighter than your future. A rinseless wash is used, eliminating the final rinse stage before drying, which saves water and time. Brush agitation on any hard-to-reach areas like grilles, trims, door handles and badges ensures all areas of your car are taken care of.

Spray-On Sealant

Paint sealants, much like ceramic coatings, are comprised of liquid polymers that create a durable, protective barrier by filling the clear coat's pores and irregularities. They shield the car from the elements, providing easier maintenance as well as amazing hydrophobic properties, allowing for water beading and sheeting. They're sprayed on after the contact wash and used as a drying aid, enhancing the car's appearance.

Tire Dressing

If you're going to dress to impress, you of course must polish your shoes. A tire shine is applied with a brush to ensure it makes its way into all the gaps, cracks and crevices of the tire wall.

What Is Paint Decontamination?

A Life-Saving Miracle Is What It Is

Paint decontamination eliminates those stubborn contaminants that won't come off with a simple contact wash. Things like tree sap, industrial fallout and microscopic iron particles from your brake dust, all accumulate overtime, embedding themselves in your paint's clear coat. A decontamination bids these elements farewell, leaving you with a perfectly smooth, extremely shiny car.

This is an important step in the paint correction and ceramic coating process, as it reduces the risk of any leftover contaminants scratching or marring your vehicle while polishing.

Iron removers are specially formulated to break down iron particles on paint, as well as wheels, glass and chrome or plastic trim. It works for the whole car!

Iron Remover used before ceramic coating

How Does It Work?

Step 1: Chemical Decontamination

The first step (after an exterior detail) is to apply an Iron Remover, a chemical solution that dissolves and breaks down the bonds between the iron particles and the clear coat as it dwells on the car.

Step 2: Mechanical Decontamination

A clay bar or clay towel is then used as an abrasive tool to disperse the solution and lift the contaminants up and off the car, leaving your paint as smooth as can be.

To minimise friction and therefore the risk of scratching, the towel is dampened with rinseless wash, allowing it to safely glide over the vehicle's surface while still eliminating the contaminants.

When Do I Use It?

Every few months.

Obviously, there will be outliers; some people live or park near factories or railroads where there is an abundance of industrial fallout, some people live in the wilderness and park under trees 24/7, exposing their vehicles to tree sap and many, many bird droppings. So it just depends. It's also a free country, you can clean it whenever the hell you like.

There's no set time period, it's usually every few months, or a few times a year, more frequently if you're vehicle is exposed often as mentioned above.

If there's a heavy accumulation of iron, you'll see the orange tinge from the rust from up close, you might even be able to feel it. Assuming your paint is old, untreated and needs a decontamination, to double check you can glide a small piece of paper over the surface. You'll feel the irregularities and hear the roughness, compared to a completely smooth surface (where the paper simply glides across without any noise).

What Is Rinseless Wash?

Rinseless wash has been around since late 20th century, developed  with a unique blend of surfactants, emulsifiers and polymers as an automotive cleaning technique instead of the traditional soap and water method. It encapsulates and dislodges contaminants, lifting the dirt and grime off the vehicle, eliminating the need for a final rinse.

Majority of rinseless washes are heavily reliant on polymers and less emulsification, their specific concentration dragging dirt to the bottom of the bucket. However, this is not the only effective solution that's been created. DIY Detail's Rinseless Wash has been formulated with increased amounts of emulsifiers to ensure all contaminants can be removed from the vehicle, while still containing enough polymers for sufficient protection and lubrication.

Now I know how this is going to sound, I know there'll be some skeptical people out there. But hear me out. Rinseless wash, as bizarre as it sounds, is actually safer than traditional car soap. When you rinse off the car after a traditional contact wash, it increases the scratch risk when drying with a towel. But the slickness of a rinseless wash means you can leave the solution on as you dry, ensuring there's no friction between the towel and the vehicle. And unlike water spots, if it dries and creates polymer spots, you simply wet the panel and it will be ready to dry.

It's the simple, efficient and effective method I use to leave your car looking as shiny as can be! Book in an Interior & Exterior Detail and let me show you the magic of rinseless wash!
